Tata Motors unveiled their Racer variant of Altroz at last year’s Auto Expo, setting themselves up as direct competition against Hyundai i20 N Line.

It will be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine taken from the Nexon SUV, producing peak power and torque ratings of 118 horsepower and 170 Nm respectively.

Price

Tata Motors will soon release the Altroz Racer hatchback. This performance-oriented variant will compete directly against Hyundai i20 N Line for performance enthusiasts in this segment, offering cosmetic upgrades, more powerful engines, and extra features.

The Racer is expected to retail at approximately Rs 11 lakh, which makes it more costly than its Altroz counterpart but we feel this price point is justified by offering additional power and features.

The company will also offer the Racer with a manual gearbox, making it more attractive to enthusiasts. In addition, a games-oriented suspension setup and finely-tuned steering elements should help to improve handling performance.

The Racer will feature a striking black paint scheme, black alloy wheels, and an eye-catching roof-mounted spoiler to give its bold and aggressive exterior an impressionable presence. As for its interiors, this hatchback will come equipped with an advanced touchscreen infotainment system with features such as ventilated front seats and head-up display; leather upholstery should add to the cabin’s premium atmosphere; its dashboard may even sport stone dark hues with red accents for an eye-catching finish – not forgetting features such as wireless charger and cool glovebox storage!
